Degree Progress Evaluation


Students who were admitted to Otis College prior to Fall 2013 and left Otis College during the second semester of their senior year or the last semester of graduate studies without completing their degree requirements should complete a Degree Progress Evaluation Form to verify their remaining courses and credits. Students who did not reach the second semester senior level and are interested in returning to Otis should apply for readmission and their degree requirements will be assessed against the current curriculum by their studio department and the LAS department if readmitted. 

Step 1: Student submits Degree Progress Evaluation Form (only if a BFA student completed the first semester of their senior year and had their last semester remaining or if an MFA student had only their last semester of graduate study remaining)

Step 2: The Registration Office will submit the student's transcripts to the appropriate studio department and LAS department to verify remaining courses (processing time can approximately 3 weeks)

Step 3: After the student receives a confirmation email of remaining degree requirements, the student should schedule an appointment with the appropriate department to speak about options for completing their remaining courses.  

Please note that according to the student handbook "BFA program students must complete all degree requirements within a period of ten (10) years from their first date of registration. MFA students must complete all degree requirements within five (5) years from their first date of registration. Students who fail to complete all degree requirements by the stipulated deadlines will be required to complete the current curriculum requirements that are published in the course catalog, which may entail additional coursework and credits."
